Firm co-founded by architecture professor Andrew Moddrell receives 2022–2023 Miller Prize


Exhibit Columbus recently announced that PORT – the public realm design and planning consultancy co-founded by KU School of Architecture & Design professor Andrew Moddrell – is among four recipients of the 2022-23 J. Irwin and Xenia S. Miller Prize.  

PORT and the other awarded firms will each design a site-responsive installation that will be displayed in downtown Columbus, Indiana at the 2023 Exhibition of Exhibit Columbus next August.    

Exhibit Columbus is the flagship program of the Landmark Columbus Foundation, a nonprofit organization that preserves and promotes the cultural heritage of the small city which includes built works by Eliel Saarinen, Eero Saarinen, I.M. Pei, Richard Meier, Harry Weese, and Deborah Berke, among others.    

This cycle of Exhibit Columbus is organized around the theme of community empowerment and will focus on revitalizing the city’s downtown core. PORT is partnering with the Mill Race Center, a Columbus community center for healthy aging.
