Spring 2020 Hallmark Symposium Lecture Series to continue online


LAWRENCE - Beginning on March 26th, all Spring 2020 Hallmark Symposium lectures will take place online via Zoom. Links to the lectures will be shared on social media and included under the speaker biographies on the Hallmark Symposium webpage as this information becomes available.  

March 26: Lissa Rivera  

Lissa Rivera is a photographer and curator based in New York City. Rivera received her MFA from the School of Visual Arts, where she became fascinated with the social history of photography and the evolution of identity, sexuality and gender in relationship to material culture. Beautiful Boy, Rivera's latest project, takes her interest in photography's connection with identity to a personal level, focusing on her domestic partner as muse.  

APRIL 16: Bon Ku  

Dr. Bon Ku is the assistant dean for health & design at Thomas Jefferson University. A practicing emergency medicine physician, he is also the director of the Health Design Lab and created the first design-thinking program at a medical school. His innovative program tackles health care inequalities as a form of social justice and teaches future physicians to apply human-centered design to health care challenges. Health Design Lab’s work toward building healthier cities and communities has been featured in The New York Times, CNBC and Architectural Digest.   

April 30: Bil Donovan  

Bil Donovan is one of the most prolific and esteemed fashion and lifestyle illustrators working today. As an artist, author, educator and spokesperson, he is a true champion of the art form. His client list includes Christian Dior, where he has served as artist-in-residence since 2009, as well as Neiman Marcus, Vogue, St. Regis Hotels, Kim Crawford Vineyards, Saks, New York Magazine, Elle and L’Occitane.
