Barry Fitzgerald: 30 Years of Teaching & Making retrospective exhibition, Sept. 30–Oct. 21

In honor of his 30th anniversary on the KU faculty, Barry Fitzgerald, professor of illustration and animation, will be exhibiting a retrospective of his work alongside the work of 70 of his former KU students. Opening reception: Friday, Sept. 29, 5:00 – 9:00pm.

Photography professor's solo exhibition examines personal anxiety and collective unease

Lilly McElroy’s exhibition at Studios Inc. in Kansas City, Sept. 8–Oct. 21, includes looped videos and photographic prints made from physically manipulated color negatives. McElroy also has work in KU's Spencer Museum of Art as part of their exhibition “Reading the World.”

The first KU Design Symposium of the Fall 2023 season features Kris Kuksi, an artist who uses sculptural mixed media assemblage to build chimerical worlds, distorted mythologies, and rich narratives that destabilize familiar concepts of history, culture, and humanity.
