Alumni Spotlight: John Biehler Jr.

My time in Marvin and Chalmers Hall was critical in shaping me into the creative person that I am today. As a freshman, I wasn't really sure where my photography major would take me, but looking back it was the best decision that I made while at KU. Near the beginning of my sophomore year I was completely set on running my own photography business full time after graduating. During undergrad, I made it a priority to develop a love and appreciation for photography as both an art form and a business. Fortunately, I was able to mix that appreciation with the experience that I gained as an editor with the University Daily Kansan and grow into who I am today. Now, I freelance full time as a photographer, videographer and grip in Wichita. I focus on shooting commercial events and marketing material for small to medium sized businesses and also spend time working on my own personal photography projects. I am going to continue to build my clientele here in ICT and market myself towards other businesses, individuals and organizations around the country as I continue to grow my network.
