Alumni Spotlight: Mario Gonzalez

I graduated with an undergraduate degree in industrial design and a Master of Arts in interaction design. This educational background has been one of the most valuable and rewarding experiences of my career. I chose these programs at the University of Kansas because of their curriculum and multidisciplinary approach to design.

The diverse teaching staff at the design department allows students to explore the vast world of design and find their passion and interest. This is when I discovered my passion for interaction design, tackling complex challenges found in designing digital experiences. Equally important to my education was the knowledge, exchange of ideas, and diverse perspectives that my classmates brought to our class discussions, project assignments, and after-hour activities.

My education has provided me with a strong foundation for success throughout my career. I’ve had the opportunity to work in various industries and verticals as a design consultant. Currently, I’m working at Microsoft Dynamics 365, where I help design the future of digital experiences for frontline workers. By leveraging mixed reality and artificial intelligence, I’m contributing to a new era of digital transformation for field service organizations. My journey through my education and diverse professional experiences has equipped me with the skills and insights to drive innovation and create impactful digital solutions for people.
