Interior Architecture Student Organizations

Interior Architecture students have the opportunity to be a part of two interiors-specific student organizations – the American Society of Interior Designers and the International Interior Design Association – plus, various others associated with the architecture and design disciplines and many more campus groups.

ASID

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) chapter at KU offers opportunities for ArcD students to learn more about their field and connect with the people around them. They plan things like educational events, fundraisers, and social events. They are in the Missouri West/Kansas national chapter, and becoming a student member and being involved with ASID looks great on a resume! As of 2025, all interior architecture students are automatically ASID student members. Check out their Instagram for more information, updates on events, or to get in touch with them.

IIDA

International Interior Design Association (IIDA) KU chapter provides an environment for the mutual development and exchange of knowledge within ArcD among design students, educators, and professionals. Participation in IIDA student events and competitions will build your resume and help secure additional recognition that will help a student stand out among peers.
