The 40th year of the KU Design Symposium kicks off Thursday, Aug. 24 at 6pm

Oscar-winning director, Guillermo del Toro, in praise of Kuksi's work, said, "A postindustrial Rococo master, Kris Kuksi obsessively arranges characters and architecture with an exquisite sense of drama ... Kuksi manages to evoke, at once, a sanctum and a mausoleum for our suffocated spirit."

Thursday's lecture is free and open to the public.
