Biography —
Shawn Brackbill is a photographer and videographer originally from Pennsylvania. He moved to Lawrence in 2017 after 10 years of freelance photo and video work in New York City. Shawn has been an adjunct Lecturer at KU since the Fall of 2023 and is a videographer and video editor in the KU Marketing Department.
His work ranges from portraiture to reportage to fashion with an astute eye for both natural and studio lighting. He works in a wide range of mediums from analog film to vhs video to high end digital photo and video cameras. His clients range from bands and record labels like Beach House, Kurt Vile and The War On Drugs to fashion clients like Thom Browne, Tommy Hilfger and Oscar de la Renta. Past editorial photography work has been published in The New York Times, Vogue, ELLE, and Interview Magazine. Exhibited both nationally and internationally, his worked was most recently shown in Turkey at 212 Photography Istanbul, in Malaga, Spain at Moments Festival and in Lawrence for a solo exhibition at Cider Gallery.
