Biography

 Dr. Peter Olshavsky is an Associate Professor of Architecture at The University of Kansas. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Arch. II in history and theory from McGill University and B.Arch. from The Pennsylvania State University. Prior to KU, he taught at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, McGill University, Temple University, and practiced professionally in Philadelphia. Olshavsky’s research focus is on the history and theory of late-modern architecture. As a former Canada-US Fulbright scholar, this work has been recognized and published internationally. Recent publications include an essay on MOS Architects in LOG, an essay for Steven Holl’s traveling exhibition catalog Steven Holl: Making Architecture, an interview with Holl in the Journal of Architectural Education, and the forward to Alberto Pérez-Gómez’s book Timely Meditations: Select Essays on Architecture. He is currently working on a book project about Daniel Libeskind’s pedagogy at Cranbrook Academy of Art.
