Animation Curriculum

The BFA in Design, Animation program consist of a carefully-arranged sequence of courses that follow a four-year track from the fall semester of a student's year of admission to the program. The curriculum listed below is subject to change and each student's path to graduation is unique. Students should meet with their academic advisor at least once per semester to ensure proper enrollment and track to graduation.

At every level, the program emphasizes a solid understanding of, and rigorous practice with problem solving and the principles of motion. This equips students with a highly versatile and durable set of skills to serve them long after current digital tools are obsolete. Through exploration of methods and techniques, and with a focus on narrative and character animation, the program helps students to develop their own visual voice and provides them the skillset to tell compelling visual stories.
