Jayhawk D-Lab
The primary purpose of Jayhawk D-Lab:
- Support Kansas families by making design education affordable and accessible
- Support Kansas businesses through talent pipeline and innovation in design
- Advance economic prosperity through promoting design innovation and entrepreneurship
Jayhawk D-Lab will serve its purpose through on-campus and off-campus collaborative teaching, research, and service projects and programs with support from community and industry partners and philanthropic foundations.
On-Campus Projects and Programs:
- Design camps for middle and high school students**
- Design week for all to learn design thinking skills and tools
- Design thinking and entrepreneurship credit-bearing courses, minors, and certificates for students from all disciplines**
- Design thinking and entrepreneurship non-credit bearing courses, workshops, and boot camps for the public and the professionals*
- Executive education programs in design innovation and entrepreneurship with KCGD*
Off-Campus Projects and Programs:
- Pipeline projects serving minority and underserved communities in collaboration with community and professional organizations, such as KC Scholars, Real World Learning, KC Global Design, and KC NOMA
- Design education, events, and workshops for K-12 teachers and students in partnership with public schools
- Internship and externship opportunities and programs
- Community-engaged design and research projects**
- Service learning through community partnership
- KCDC and other Programs to enhance our visibility and presence in Kansas and other nearby states*
