Architecture professor Suncica Milosevic a featured scholar in series hosted by the KU Commons, Friday, Feb. 20
LAWRENCE — The Commons at the University of Kansas will host Red Hot Research sessions in February, March, April and May, including one session in conjunction with the Office of Faculty Affairs and one Red Hot Graduate Research event.
Red Hot Research, which began in fall 2012, is a curated event that brings scholars together across areas of study through short, six-minute presentations. Speakers introduce an idea from their research, and attendees offer questions, presenting potential for collaborative opportunities to emerge across disciplines.
The first session of the semester highlight work that features “Mapping, Detection, Response” and will take place at 4 p.m. Feb. 20 in Watson Library, 3 West. Speakers include:
- Emily Arnold, associate professor of aerospace engineering
- Marina Suarez, associate professor of geology
- Ted Goebel, professor of anthropology
- Suncica Milosevic, assistant professor of architecture.
Subsequent sessions in Watson Library, 3 West, include:
- 4 p.m. March 27 with the Office of Faculty Affairs, featuring Keeler Fellows.
- 4 p.m. April 17 featuring graduate research.
A final session will take place at 4 p.m. May 1 at another location, yet to be determined. The general theme for the session is “Growth, Scale, Spread.”
