For nearly 40 years, the KU Design Symposium has enriched educational experiences through exposure to designers and artists from around the world. The first event of the spring series, Feb. 2 at 6pm, features a panel discussion with Hallmark designers.

The Architecture Lecture Series welcomes architectural and experiential design leaders to illuminate new ideas and inspire purpose-driven design practice. The first event, Feb. 3 at 5pm in The Forum, features architect, scholar, and KU Emeritus Professor Stephen Grabow.

Wednesday, Feb. 1, the KU team will conduct its first technical visit with the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon® inspectors. This will be an opportunity to meet the students and learn about the unique features planned for their bio-based home. 

After a national search, the University of Kansas School of Architecture & Design has appointed Amy Johnson as Assistant Dean of the School. Johnson will lead enrollment management, academic support services, and student experience initiatives.

Jae Chang has been appointed Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. Chang has been instrumental in developing new connections between education, industry, and communities at KU. In this new role, he will lead School-wide engagement initiatives.

Grace Dickerson, senior photography student from Overland Park, is among those receiving an Undergraduate Research Award and scholarship funding from the KU Center for Undergraduate Research.

The Research-Intensive Course Grants are part of the overall efforts of the Center for Undergraduate Research to provide accessible research opportunities for KU students.

Ampersand RadLab, a new student-run KU Visual Communication Design project focused on community engagement, is featured on the Lawrence Times.
