The KU Department of Design is currently accepting applications for Fall 2023. Visit the link below to learn how to submit your portfolio, what to include, and upcoming deadlines. To be considered for admission during the priority application period, submit materials by November 1st.
KU offers a professional, client-based Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design degree with areas of concentration in Illustration & Animation, Industrial Design (Product Design), Photography, and Visual Communication Design (Graphic Design).
Why study design?
Design is everywhere and design careers are in demand. Designers employ creative vision and technical skillsets to innovate consumer products and move people to action, develop mobile applications and build virtual realities, tell visionary stories and shape immersive entertainment experiences. And increasingly, designers are called on to apply solutions-based design skills to manage complex projects, improve business processes, and lead companies.
KU Design graduates are video game designers, artists, marketing executives, footwear designers, furniture makers, art directors, UX/UI developers, product designers, and leaders. From independent practices to global companies, KU alumni are making new things and making the world a better place through design.
