Long-awaited second volume of ‘Embattled Lawrence’ now available

Compiled and edited by former architecture professor Dennis Domer and designed by design chairperson Tim Hossler, the new book includes chapters on anti-slavery efforts and other local battles for freedom and equality that had yet to be fully explored.

In a third-year designbuild studio – led by professor Kurt Hong and practitioners Matthew Hufft and Josh Ogren of the design and fabrication studio, Hufft – students learned to apply parametric design to repurpose materials otherwise destined for the landfill. 

HOK awards architecture student with Diversity x Design scholarship

The global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm, HOK, has named KU architecture student Sarah Montes as one of ten recipients of a 2023 Diversity x Design scholarship.

KC Studio features the immersive artwork created by MacArthur Genius Grant recipient with the help of ArcD students

Artist Janine Antoni partnered with the Kansas Biological Survey & Center for Ecological Research, KU Indigenous Studies, ArcD professor Keith Van de Riet's Designbuild studio, and Architecture PhD student Suzan Hampton to develop the labyrinth project commissioned by the Spencer Museum of Art.
